Digital Nature Photography and Adobe Photoshop

New!  Joe Farace's Review  titled Best Photo/Digital Books of the Year in the December 06 Issue of Shutterbug Magazine!

"Digital Nature Photography and Adobe Photoshop; by Kevin Moss; Thomson; 330 pages; $39.99; softbound; (ISBN 1-9863-135-7)
Kudos all around on this book. A lot of credit goes to Thomson for producing one with a “landscape” orientation. They wrapped the book in a wonderful design with supporting text and illustrations by Kevin Moss. The first half reads like a master class on nature photography. The second half is all about what to do with the photographs when you get them into your computer. Moss starts with using Adobe Bridge to manage images and then shows how to make tonal and color corrections. His before and after illustrations show how judicious and realistic application of these digital tools can make your nature photographs sing."

"A Great Help for Us Novices", March 22, 2006
"I got this book about two weeks ago; and as I am barely half way through, I have found so much helpful info, this book has been well worth the cost several times over!
Admittedly I was quite skeptical when chapter one only had to do with reading and reviewing the camera users guide that came with your camera. But I went dutiflly and dug out my manual, started paging thought it, and "surprise" if this book wasn't right! When you take the time to look at the full list of capabilities for your camera, it opens new doors in photo opportunities and creative possibilities. I got out my highlighter and went to work both on my manual and " 50 Fast Digital Camera Techniques".

"Chapters 8, 9 and 10 are worth their weight in gold! I have a Canon PowerShot A95, and have used it for about a year. It is pretty easy to use, etc. Gives great pics and a lot come out looking very professional, but my being completely unacquainted with photo terminology has slowed down my learning curve. So I loved how this book is written slowly building on the last chapter, thoroughly explaining the new terms and has complete chapters dedicated to things like; "Taking Sharply Focused Photos", "Getting the Exposure You Want" and "Selecting Focal Length".

I love this book and recommend it for anyone starting photography or interested in getting more from their camera."

"Great book", October 28, 2005

"This well produced book is color throughout and really measures up to any other digital camera recipe book that I've seen. The techniques get right to the point, with lots of variety and nice images. Everything is step-by-step and richly illustrated, covering both camera tricks and cool special effects. About half the techniques show how to get the most from specific digital camera features, and half are subject-oriented techniques (e.g. flowers, still-life, landscapes, people, etc.) I've been shooting like a maniac with my new D50, and I'm a satisfied customer with this book."

"Great book for beginners", August 7, 2006

"Camera Raw with Photoshop for Dummies by Kevin L. Moss has proven to be a top book for learning about Camera Raw and Bridge from a photography prespective. I have used Camera Raw and Bridge, but was never 100% sure about what to do, workflow, etc. This book was great for walking me though the steps. Explainations weren't overly detailed and Kevin added humor throughout, making the book an easy read.
